A small family run vineyard nestled amongst the North Devon hills, in the beautiful hamlet of Lobb near Croyde.

This boutique vineyard is planted on the south west facing slopes, overlooking the UNESCO designated biosphere of Braunton Burrows and near to the famous beaches at Saunton Sands, Croyde and Woolacombe.
As far as we know, we are the closest vineyard to surfing beaches in the UK, less than 2 miles as the buzzard flies

Journey So Far

Established in spring 2019, we have chosen to plant hybrid grape varieties to benefit from early ripening, disease resistance and high yield qualities to suit our location. 2022 will hopefully be our first harvest and once fully planted we expect to produce approximately 5,000 bottles a year

Solaris is a hybrid white wine variety grown mainly in Baden, Germany, where it was developed in 1975

Solaris wines are most often made in off-dry styles, but the variety’s extremely high natural sugar levels make it well suited to the production of sweet wines. It is disease resistant, and ripens earlier than almost any other wine grape. The name Solaris, which means “sun”, is particularly apt, as the variety is used in regions noted for their cool climates and low sunshine levels

Rondo is a dark-skinned interspecific hybrid variety that performs very strongly in cold climates. The variety prized for its frost-hardiness was first bred in the former Czechoslovakia in 1964, before it was further developed and cultivated at the Geisenheim Grape Breeding Institute in Germany

As well as its ability to reliably ripen, Rondo is also well regarded because it is highly resistant to diseases and produces good-quality, full-bodied, deep red wines
